The world-leading Institute of Development & Regenerative Medicine (IDRM) medical research building is a three-storey structure housing state of the art laboratories with the aim of developing treatments for degenerative diseases, including heart disease.

Designed by SRA Architects, in collaboration with McLaughlin & Harvey, the brief was to create a sense of openness within the laboratories and the breakout areas to promote collaboration and interaction between scientists.

FBS Contracts manufactured and installed the laboratory and write up spaces for each of the three research themes, cardiology, neurology and immunology for the purpose of life sciences research. The laboratories are equipped with both perimeter and island benching manufactured in 20mm Trespa Toplab Plus providing surfaces for the most demanding chemicals and cleaning agents whilst also delivering high durability and robustness for the client.

We are proud to be a part of a project that will bring together more than 200 world-leading scientists to tackle serious heart conditions.
